James Handy, DPM, provides podiatry services at our Bastrop location.
He grew up and attended high school in Houston Texas. He is the only child of a U.S. Military Father and a Greek immigrant mother.
Dr. Handy attended the University of Houston where he earned a Bachelors’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry. He then attended the University of Houston for graduate school for two years studying microbiology and immunology. He then applied and was accepted to New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City to study.
Dr. Handy lived and went to school in New York City for four years and then after graduation, went to Texarkana, Texas, for a postgraduate residency. He lived in Texarkana for three years where he completed a primary medicine and a reconstructive surgical residency. Soon after the completion of his residency, he was recruited by Smithville Hospital to practice in Bastrop, Texas.
