Dr. Parikh is a board-certified geriatrician and internal medicine physician. She completed her medical school at the University of Texas San Antonio, followed by an internal medicine residency at the University of Arizona, and then a geriatric fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle. After an advanced research fellowship, she worked at the Seattle VA for several years before moving to Austin, Texas with her family. She enjoys spending time with her family, painting, reading historical fiction, and swimming in the cool Barton Springs.

My goal is to decrease the burden of care, minimize high-risk medications when possible, and maintain physical function for as long as possible. I consider it an honor to have my patient’s trust and to walk this journey with them and their family.”

Heather Gilcrease, APRN, FNP-C

Heather, a native Texan born in Austin, completed her nursing degree in 2010. She began her career in Tyler, Texas, working across various departments in the hospital system before returning to Austin in 2011. For several years, she worked at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center in Med-Surg/trauma. In 2017, she earned her advanced practice degree from Texas State University. Heather’s early interest in caring for older adults led her to her first provider role in geriatric care within long-term and skilled nursing facilities. Here, she specialized in chronic care management, memory loss, palliative, and hospice medicine. She later transitioned to outpatient wound care, focusing on chronic and acute wound management, limb salvage, and hyperbaric medicine. Outside of work, Heather enjoys outdoor activities, sports, live music, volunteering, and spending time with her husband and son.

This includes addressing their physical, emotional, and social well-being through active listening and fostering strong, trusting relationships with patients and their families. I prioritize chronic care management and aim to reduce medical burden, enhancing quality of life and preserving independence for as long as possible.”
